July Camp-out

For Azurdey's birthday this year we thought it would be fun to take the kids to Medicine Lodge and go camping. We just went for one night (3rd-4th) but it was well worth it. We all really enjoyed ourselves and it was nice to get away for a moment and relax. It was so green and pretty that I couldn't resist taking a whole bunch of pictures. It sprinkled on us off and on when we first got there but didn't get us very wet. It was warm enough that it just felt nice. We went on some fun hikes. There were great places to explore under all the trees and vines. There were also a lot of good climbing trees. Aren't trees the best?! Gerry helped the kids fish in a stream. Talon loved playing paddle ball and was always hitting someone up to play with him. After dark, the kids played with glow sticks. For dinner we had hot dogs and corn on the cob. We roasted red, white, and blue marshmallows and popped Jiffy Pop popcorn over the fire for treats. Gerry made us a yummy sausage, egg and hashbrown breakfast completed with hot chocolate. We are hoping we get a chance to go again before the summer is gone.

So glad you posted these pics. It is fun to see them bigger than your lcd screen... and I love that they get to camp in a place that is nostalgic of our childhood.
