I was trying to think of something that would make Jada happy today. Those of you that knew her well, know that she absolutely LOVED hugs. I think she would love it if everyone went out of their way to HUG someone that they wouldn't usually hug, today. Afterwards, if you would be kind enough, share with us your experience. I think it would be a wonderful tribute to our girl who loved everyone so freely.

What a great way to honor and remember your sweet little girl:)I love all the pictures of her, what a little sweetie.
This is beautiful Ashley!! I still remember you having Jada & her being so little & as sweet as they come!! I still can't believe she is gone. Today is Brady's birthday (my baby @ 4 years old) & I was hugging & loving him today while the house was quite & the others were napping... he said, "Mom, why do you like to do this to me?" (as he was wiggling trying to get away) I got a tear... thinking, cause it will only last for a little while longer! Life & our babies are to precious!! Once again I have tears thinking of you & your day & how hard these times are!! You & Gerry are in my thoughts & prayers!! Families are Forever!!!
Your amazing! What a great way to honor your daughter.....my thoughts are with your family today...and yes Families ARE forever! xoxo
I read your request, and went out with hugs on my mind! Every hug that I saw, I thought of you and Jada! So not only the ones I gave, but just the random ones. I didn't know Jada, and don't know you. But for what I read it wouldn't be unusual for Jada to just walk up and hug someone? Well, yesterday I was picking up my daughter from school. A girl I would not normally take home asked for a ride. The car was full unless I unlatched a carseat that I wasn't using, and I knew it would be a pain to unlatch it and then have to relatch it later. I really didn't want to be bothered. But I decided to be inconvenienced anyway. When my daughter came out, this girl surprised me by reaching out and giving her a hug! It isn't common for this to happen, so I figure I better come and tell you about it. I hope it made Jada's day a little better, and yours too.
Dear Ashlee & Gerry,
(forgive me for taking so long to read your blogpost!!!)
Jada was a beautiful child and I/we are so grateful to you for allowing us to be a part of your family (at a time when we were just learning what it meant to have and raise a child). You are wonderful, devoted parents!
Dave who was just looking over my shoulder said, "I remember Jada so well. She and Journey took such good care of Jackson." I remember the day Jackson took his first steps. Jada was proud to report it to us at pick-up.
I am grateful that our memories of Jada include witnessing her baptism. I remember the day very clearly (the room, your family, the sunlight).
We miss her. We miss your family. I see the Burton children are growing up nicely. Sending you much love from Washington, DC.
As to your assignment, it's 8:40 p.m. in our nation's capital, and there's no way I'm going out to hug anyone (smile)... In the spirit of Jada (who was an awesome child), I hugged Jackson. There is nothing better than the love of family.
Much love to your family,
Happy Easter,
Love,
Yasmin, David & Jackson
ps. we'll be in Wyoming this summer. Are you in Wyoming? e-mail us: eisengeneral@aol.com
Ashlee, Gerry and family:
What a touching tribute to Jada. You are an amazing family. I am so touched by your thoughts and the wonderful way of 'remembering Jada' that you picked. I am sure she is also touched. Tears are streaming down my face as I mentally 'hug' all those people I love but that are not within reach of my arms!
And I am amazed at the fabulous birthday cakes you make!
Thanks for the spiritual uplift!

I have been so busy with Tazz that in the mornings I don't get to spend my snuggling moment with Ozz so the night I read your blog I just grabbed him after I had put Tazz to bed and just hugged and held him for like 10 minutes and he loved it.As I hugged him I was thinking of Jada even though I didn't know her I feel like I do just by all the great things you say about her so thank you for making me take time to hug Ozz cause we have not been able to do it that much with Tazz here
This is a beautiful tribute to your sweet Jada, I don't know her, but I grew up in SV with Gerry. I'm so sorry for your family's loss, but I am going to have a hug fest this week in honor of Jada. Thank you for sharing her with us and enriching our lives through her example.
